Titanium is an explosive, energetic and entertaining blend of ferocious flamenco, bad ass breakdance and cool hip hop.
Titanium breaks down the boundaries and shakes the traditional concepts of dance and music by blending and mixing the three styles to emotional live spanish music and fast electronic dance music. There’s classic flamenco to dance music, b-boy moves to spanish song and hip hop across both.
Throughout the show the three sets of dancers challenge each other to a dance-off, but who will win, breakdance, flamenco, hip hop? In the end they all come out stars, after a dazzling non-stop electric performance.
The flamenco dancers stomp and swirl with beauty and posted intensity, b-boys cut astonishing moves as they freeze and balance, performing incredible head & body spins; and the hip hop crew give us Beyonce and Jackson street dance inspired popping & locking music video sequences.
Created by flamenco stars and Ballet Nuevo Espanol’s artistic directors, Angle Rojas and Carols Rodriguez, Titanium exposes these different dances and music styles to new audiences giving them a fresh perspective and also shows that you can dance to anything!
The finale is the highlight that becomes a ‘clash of the titans’ with the dancers saving their best moves ’til last, whipping up a dance frenzy as each dancers get to show off the individual talents and their most impressive moves while the crowd cheers and roars.
If you’re looking for an entertaining and uplifting night out, get a group together and get down to Titanium for an explosive night that will have you dancing out of the theatre!
Titanium is at Sadler’s Wells Peacock Theatre until 23 May 2015.
