Japanese neoclassical pianist, Koki Nakano. His upcoming album ‘Pre-Choreographed’ (due April 24) explores the binary relationship between music and dance and is accompanied by a series of rather stunning music videos, choreographed by leading dancers from around the world.
The first video released from the album is for lead-off single ‘Bloomer’. The piece’s delicate film of scratches & scrapes laid over Koki’s complex, unfurling piano harmonies is tracked to an equally startling dance sequence conceived & performed by Japanese dancer Mariko Kakizaki, and shot by Benjamin Seroussi on location in Israel’s Negev Desert.
